I was annoyed by some slackers on my team but I am close to 30 and many of them are early 20s.probably a generational thing. (You have to understand Gainesville is a casual college town known for awful customer service) Anyway, I forged good relationships with clientele and some coworkers while there. Seems ridiculous to me that they would have to stress "come with your uniform on, hair and face ready" but they did. Very impressed, the owners and managers run a tight ship and expect the staff to represent at all times. High caliber places in the area are slim pickings, but then I found Cloud 9. I studied hospitality management in college and worked at a number of high end hotels and resorts in Boca and So. If you want a job that appreciates you, appreciate the hard work that their employees do, room to grow etc then go somewhere else this is not the job for you. There is no opportunity to move up so don't even get your hopes up on that they tell you there's opportunity but there's not, they lied to me from my interview all the way to my last day.
You have to have your hair and makeup fully done everyday and if it's not you get in trouble, just a heads up if you want time off you have to give a 3-month notice no exceptions. They do not treat their employees well, you're always getting in trouble for something, nothing is ever good enough for them. If you are looking for a company that truly cares about their employees as a person rather than just another number, this is not for you!ĭon't waste your time with this locally-owned company, the manager has no clue on what she is doing she looks at you like a deer in the headlights 99% of the time, when you go to her with issues she never answers the questions directly she always tiptoes around the answer trying to use big words like she knows what she's doing and saying but she's actually clueless. Keep in mind with this company as well that you will work what they want you to work and most of the time you do not leave until 8:30pm. The most enjoyable part of the job was getting to go home before 8:30pm on some nights. I mean after all we all are human and mistakes happen. The hardest part of the job was having to deal with the management and all of their emails(when something is wrong or you have not completed a task appropriately to their liking they would send out an email to everyone, instead of just simply telling you about your mistake personally). I did learn an entirely different level of customer service from some of my fellow coworkers. Some of the management are very careless about their employees which makes working for them very difficult. Just within the two months that I had been there, five different employees had come and gone.
However, after being there for two months I began to see that this company has the highest turn over rate that I have ever seen.
The environment was fun and the tasks at hand when first starting were simple and easy to catch on to.
